The Entomological Tales of Augustus T. Percival, Book Four: Saving Petronella

Middle grade, historical fantasy.

Petronella Arbuthnot, her insectivore guardian, Augustus T. Percival, are asked by King Edward of England, to travel to British Honduras and infiltrate the colony of British expatriates turned pirate with the goal of halting their depredations on supplies being sent to the Panama Canal. British control over the Suez Canal and Egypt is slipping so it is imperative that Panama Canal construction moves forward so that Great Britain can maintain its supremacy in international shipping. Petronella and Uncle Augustus, along with Jane and James Sinclair, deal with the pirates, Central American jungles, and the very islanders who hold the secrets of Uncle Augustus’s strange predilection for insects.
